About

Burngreave Oral history project is an intergenerational project that creatively explores the lived experiences of Sheffield's African Caribbean Community.

BOHP uses digital technologies and traditional art-forms to explore, share and preserve the migration histories and personal stories of African Caribbean people in Sheffield.

Different generations of men & women will develop artworks inspired by the collected stories. Destinations will offer training in the use of new technologies.

In August 2004, Destinations Arts secured £3,500 pounds of funding from Creative Burngreave (Sheffield Arts Education).

Partners currently include Sheffield Archives, All Saints Community Centre, Sheffield Multipule Heritage Service, Sheffield Galleries and Museums Trust, Sheffield and District Afro Caribbean Association, SADACCA. A number of Burngreave and sheffield based artists have also expressed support.
